【摘要】:Aconstituentcontentofacompositematerialmustbeknowninordertoanalyticallymodelthematerialproperties(mechanical,physical,thermal,orelectrical)ofthecompositewhichareaffectedbythereinforcementormatrix.Also,knowledgeoftheconstituentcontentisrequiredforevaluationofthequalityofafabricatedmaterialandtheprocessesusedduringfabrication.Thevoidvolumeofacompositematerialmaysignificantlyaffectsomeofitsmechanicalproperties.Highervoidvolumesusuallymeanlowerfatigueresistance,greatersusceptibilitytomoisturepenetrationandweathering,andincreasedvariationorscatterinstrengthproperties.Knowledgeofthevoidvolumeofacompositematerialisdesirableasanindicationofthequalityofacomposite.Reinforcementcontentmaybeusedtonormalizemechanicalpropertiesaffectedbyamountofreinforcementinthecoupon.DESIG:D317106^TITLE:StandardTestMethodsforConstituentContentofCompositeMaterials^SCOPE:1.Scope1.1Thesetestmethodsdeterminetheconstituentcontentofcompositematerialsbyoneoftwoapproaches.MethodIphysicallyremovesthematrixbydigestionorignitionbyoneofsevenprocedures,leavingthereinforcementessentiallyunaffectedandthusallowingcalculationofreinforcementormatrixcontent(byweightorvolume)aswellaspercentvoidvolume.MethodII,applicableonlytolaminatematerialsofknownfiberarealweight,calculatesreinforcementormatrixcontent(byweightorvolume),andthecuredplythickness,basedonthemeasuredthicknessofthelaminate.MethodIIisnotapplicabletothemeasurementofvoidvolume.1.1.1Thesetestmethodsareprimarilyintendedfortwo-partcompositematerialsystems.However,specialprovisionscanbemadetoextendthesetestmethodstofilledmaterialsystemswithmorethantwoconstituents,thoughnotalltestresultscanbedeterminedineverycase.1.1.2Theprocedurescontainedwithinhavebeendesignedtobeparticularlyeffectiveforcertainclassesofpolymerormetalmatrices.ThesuggestedapplicationsarediscussedinSection,aswellasatthestartofeachprocedure.1.1.3MethodIassumesthatthereinforcementisessentiallyunaffectedbythedigestionorignitionmedium.Aprocedureforcorrectionoftheresultsforminorchangesinthereinforcementisincluded.ProceduresAthroughFarebasedonchemicalremovalofthematrixwhileProcedureGremovesthematrixbyignitingthematrixinafurnace.1.1.4MethodIIassumesthatthefiberarealweightofthereinforcementmaterialformisknownorcontrolledtoanacceptabletolerance.Thepresenceofvoidsisnotmeasured.Eqn.1assumezerovoidcontenttoperformthecalculation.1.2TheSIunitsshownareconsideredstandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SeeSectionforadditionalinformation.
